CHECK YOUR EQUIPMENT BEFORE RIDING

Make sure your seat is at the correct height.

Make sure all parts are working properly.

Make sure the tires are inflated properly.
BE VISIBLE

Ride during daylight hours if possible.

Wear bright or reflective clothing.
WEAR A HELMET

Adults & kids alike should wear helmets at all times while riding.

Make sure the fit is correct.

FOLLOW THE RULES

Obey street signs, signals and road markings, just like a car.

Avoid distractions and remain alert.

When entering traffic, stop and look in every direction, including over your shoulder.

Ride with the flow of traffic in the same direction.

Use hand signals when turning.

Be extra careful at intersections.

If riding with other cyclists, ride single-file.

Watch for hazards in the road such as trash, rocks, potholes and grates.

Watch for opening car doors and for cars backing out of driveways.

Watch for pedestrians and warn them when you approach.
-
Never “hitch” on vehicles while riding.
-
When in doubt, SLOW DOWN OR STOP.
